The Beach Club @ Collaroy

This is my first time here and it probably won’t be my last. It’s a good place to chill and hang out straight after work as you get to literally drink by the beach.

With the view, the price was alright but if you’re a member, it’s probably more worth it. It was $18 for a decent cocktail but would I come back for their mojito? Nah.

Beers – alright. With member’s discount I got a schooner for $8. Nothing wrong with bottled beer. A bit disappointed they didn’t have my favourite Tooheys’ Old on tap but at least they have it.

This is like a boogie RSL club as it is definitely the oldies’ fave for their local pub – I mean, they have a whole panorama beach view! Their menu boasts quite a number of Aussie pub classics such as fish and chips, chicken schnitzel, parmigiana, rumps, salads, etc.

While I love chips, I’m more of a mash person and that’s how I usually judge new places. After deciding my sides, I was going for a toss between steak and salmon. It was the usual ‘eeni meeni miini moh’ and I got salmon! It was perfect because I did have ribs the night before XD

Grilled Atlantic Salmon with mash potato & seasonal vegetables $29.8

The salmon was a tad overcooked as you can obviously see from the picture. Unfortunate. But glad the skin was crispy and that tartare sauce did save it.

Their mash was adequate. I don’t think they put in enough butter/milk to make it creamy. While I always enjoy having the mash by itself, I felt that this one was missing something.

So even though this place has the view, it definitely isn’t my top place to recommend for a bite. But then again, I did order one dish when there are so many others.
