This is located in a local pub called Bull & Bush. I’ve been coming here for years with my family and only recently did we noticed they had a change of menu, and management for the bistro. Nevertheless, we were keen to give it a go because if we like it, then we can continue to come! Besides the fact that its close to us, we also like the atmosphere and it serves my favourite beer on tap – Toohey’s Old!
My throat was sore at this point and I wanted to have mash, so I decided on grilled salmon ($25) in which I could have 2 sides. I had the choice of mash, chips, salad or steamed veggies.
My salmon was a tad overcooked (you can see the charred skin) but I didn’t mind it much because the flavours were awesome! The consistency of the mash was well done and I love how the creamy caper sauce came as a side.
This was another seafood choice – barramundi ($25). We had the chips come as a side and also chose steamed veggies.
It also comes with the creamy caper sauce which was a good dipping sauce for the chips as well. I love how they gave us the lemon wedge to add a bit of a refreshing hint of flavour in our mouths.
Quite a generous serve for the seafood basket ($26) which includes prawns, calamari, flathead tempura-styled with chips, garden salad, tartare and lemon.
I didn’t try this because of my sore throat but I heard good compliments of this dish. Perhaps the serving was a bit too much but definitely worth the buck!
