[Review] The Testaments by Margaret Atwood

News of a sequel excited me as I adored Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale. I was introduced to this world of feminism at university and Atwood’s words simply captivated me.

As a woman in this society, I honestly wish our world would not be the same as Gilead. Offred’s life as a handmaid was not envious but her escape was miraculous!

So when I heard of this sequel, I immediately pre-ordered a hard cover of this book last September.

And even though I was so excited when it arrived on my doorstep, I didn’t realise life would’ve made me so busy…busy to the fact that this book was collecting dust on my bookshelf for months!

I did not mean to take so long to finally flip through the pages of this book. And I’m glad I did it today! I finished it all today! In one day! It is seriously captivating!

I don’t want to spoil it here because YOU need to read it yourself! It’s so clever how she provided us with various personal narrations of people in different locations, and they all come together in the end. At first, it didn’t make sense and it could be confusing. But, Atwood seriously cleverly brings it all together.

P.S the green will make sense
