Ru Ge looks at the betrothal gifts and goes outside to see Yin Xue playing the flute. The next day, Ru Ge is surprised to find out that they’ve arrived back to Ping’an Town. They go back to their old shop and talk about how they separated here. Yin Xue then orders her to make sesame seed cakes for them to sell while they are waiting for his medicine to be ready. The villagers are happy to see them again and thinks that they left to get married. They provide them with well wishes for the ‘happy couple’
Later, the auntie gifts them a congratulatory word. Yin Xue, that cheeky dude, tells her that the villagers should tone down their celebration as Ru Ge’s father would not be happy to hear of it especially since Ru Ge is the daughter of a leader and Yin Xue is an ordinary man. The auntie understands their ‘plight’ and leaves those two alone. We see Yin Xue playfully asking her to be his wife as Ru Ge ignores his antics though her face becomes red as she smiles secretly.
Dao Liexiang is visited by her elder brother who tries to comfort her. She tells him that she doesn’t want this arranged marriage but the brother then asks her “Who do you want to marry then? Yin Xue?”. The brother continues to say that he wants to see her married and Anye Luo also wants her to marry. She questions how he is working with Anye Luo in the first place and he says that he is planning on eradicating him.
However, Dao Liexiang says that she is willing to spend the rest of her life in this room as long as she doesn’t marry anyone she doesn’t love. But her brother kneels in front of her telling her that he has looked after her since she was young because their parents passed away. He talks about their father’s death and that this will be the good for their sect.
Liexiang also kneels down to say that she will not marry Zhan Feng. Her brother leaves frustratedly since his sister is not willing and is not obedient. But has already made his decision and she will marry whether she likes it or not.
Lei Jinghong also arrives in Ping’an Town ahead of the wedding and is instantly greeted by Dao Wuhen. He goes inside World Swordless City’s place to see Dao Liexiang but is unable to as she is about to get married and is against propriety. Unsuccessful, he leaves thinking about the time they spent together.
Meanwhile, Yin Xue accompanies Ru Ge somewhere to improve her mood. She goes to the place Xiao Feng died, “Are you thinking of Xiao Feng?”. Seems like she’s still regretful about the situation because she could not avenge his death against Zhan Feng.
Yin Xue says that although she saw Zhan Feng carrying Xiao Feng’s dead body, she did not see him killing Xiao Feng, “That means there might be another possibility”. Their conversation continues as he remembers their previous encounter in her past life and how she kissed him. Back in the present, he tries to initiate a kiss but Ru Ge is fast and blocks him.
Later in the night, the two return back to town and are surprised by the quietness. They find out that only their shop’s lanterns are on. They go in to see that the villagers are wanting to celebrate New Years Eve together by eating dinner. They chat while eating merrily as they celebrate New Years Eve.
Meanwhile in Flaming Hills, they are also having dinner together on New Years Eve. Zhan Feng doesn’t stop drinking although the master tells him to drink less and eat more. The master also invites Xun Yi to eat dinner with them although she tries to reject it saying that its against propriety. However, as its New Years Eve, the master persuades her to saying that she’s like half a daughter to him since she grew up in his care.
Back to Ru Ge, the villagers reject her help to pack up. The villagers ask Yin Xue to play some music for them since everyone is in a happy mood. And so, he sings and plays while everyone becomes mesmerised by his performance. Next, we see Lei Jing Hong having dinner all by himself on this special night which is sad. While he is drinking, we see four men dressed in black flying towards him with their swords out.
Then, we see Ru Ge and Yin Xue getting ready for bed. She asks him a question, “Why did you choose me at the brothel back then?” He replies saying that he did not choose her but was waiting for her. She asks whether he knew her before since he waited for her. All he says is that he waited for her for a very long time, “I’ve been waiting for you since before you were born”. Hearing this, she believes he is lying again and goes to her bed. But we know that he is telling the truth although it sounds unbelievable in reality. He remembers her last moments of her past life when she died from her stab wound (beginning of ep 1).
However, he suddenly starts feeling chest pains and falls on his bed, alarming Ru Ge. He makes some weird noise saying that its cold and he got it from his previous wound. Ru Ge immediately tries to apply some heat on him using her magic. He feels better and warmer thanks to Ru Ge. She then asks him another question, “If you save my senior brother, will you have any problems?” He replies saying that his martial arts skills is high, implying that he won’t have problems.
But she does not believe him as she questions him why he brought her here. To stop their conversation, he then lies down on her lap saying that he’s tired.
The next morning, Yin Xue wakes up to find Ru Ge laying down next to him on his bed. When she wakes up, he calls her “Beautiful Jade” and then ruins the moment by saying “Ge’er do you have me in your heart?”. LOL
Later, Lei Jing Hong appears to be running away injured from the assassins behind him. He spots Flaming Hills soldiers camping near him and secretly hides himself under the carriage when they began to move.
Seems like the assassins were ordered by Madam Yan as the man report on Lei Jing Hong’s recent status. She tells him to find him and to bring him back.
At the brothel, Feng Huang meets up with the injured Lei Jing Hong who asks her for help. She goes to find some medicine to help soothe his aches.
Madam Yan goes to see Lei Hen Tian (Jing Hong’s father) and tells him that Lei Jing Hong has purposely attacked his men and run away. His father is angry but he can’t help it since he only has this one son to take over the sect.
Back to Lei Jing Hong, he gives Feng Huang a message to give to Ru Ge. However, Ru Ge does not receive the message as it was sent to senior brother’s estate (where Lei Jing Hong thought she would be at). Die Yi recognises the sign and realises that Lei Jing Hong is trying to find Ru Ge.
And so, we see Die Yi at the brothel. He tells her that the people who attacked him were from his sect. Die Yi asks whether he wants her to inform his father but he outrightly refuses, “Don’t let him know first”. He says that its due to his second mother, Madam Yan. He tells Die Yi to let Ru Ge know to take precautions against Madam Yan.Then, Die Yi meets with Ru Ge who came back to see senior brother to pass on his message. She also updates her on news about senior brother, saying that he’s sleeping a lot more now.
Meanwhile, Yin Xue is at the brothel to settle some matters. He tells Madam Hua that he is leaving the brothel to her saying that she deserves it. His subordinates tells him the danger for him to transfer the curse to him because his body might not handle it 😦
Later, Ru Ge instructs all the servants to drink the special drink. She tells Die Yi to follow General Huang tonight so that she will be protected. – Looks like they’re preparing for something.
Meanwhile, Madam Yan receives news that there will be an operation going on in senior brother’s place tonight. She tells her servant that tonight is the best opportunity to kill him.
Later, Ru Ge brings senior brother to a place to meet with Yin Xue. He lights up the seven candles and tells Ru Ge to protect them and to not let it go out for senior brother’s sake. He then continues on with his treatment.
Outside, their companions are waiting for unwelcome visitors. We see Madam Yan’s assassins coming in with bows and arrows shooting straight at the soldiers. However, senior brother’s soldiers fight back and kills off the assassins, thwarting their plan and angering Madam Yan.
Meanwhile, coolness is surround them as nearby items are being frozen. Ru Ge tries her best to keep the flames alight despite the situation.
Back outside, we realise that the drinks Ru Ge made their subordinates drink were antidotes to the poison as the assassins becomes unconscious. Madam Yan then gets reports saying that senior brother is not inside. She realised that this was a ploy set up by Yin Xue.
Yin Xue has stopped his treatment and senior brother says that he feels better. Ru Ge tells him to sleep as he’s still recovering and goes to see whether Yin Xue is alright. Yin Xue tells Ru Ge that senior brother should not get up for 3 days and 3 nights. However, she’s concerned for Yin Xue but he beckons her to go.
When they left, Yin Xue suffers by himself as he gets colder and colder watching the flames dying out one by one, until three is left.
The next morning, Madam Yan has found them and knocked Yin Xue’s subordinate unconscious. She opens the door to find Yin Xue shivering on the floor and weak. He gets up and pretends that he’s fine in front of her. Madam Yan taunts him as to get under his skin but he remains rational.
However, he is still weak due to the winter curse. Luckily Ru Ge arrives just in time to stab Madam Yan and save Yin Xue. She quickly provides him warmth through magic in order to try to restore some of his strength. But he tells her to leave.
Then, Madam Yan gets up and Ru Ge goes to attack her. In the end, Ru Ge gets defeated. However, Yin Xue sees Ru Ge’s body burning up. Ru Ge delivers a surprise blow towards Madam Yan’s face as Ru Ge becomes confused with her increased strength. And so, while Madam Yan is injured, they quickly escape into the forest.
In the midst of their escape, Yin Xue spots something black heading towards them and pushes Ru Ge away. As a result, the black flying figure (Anye Luo) gets Yin Xue and runs away with him. He throws Yin Xue harshly against a tree telling him that he won’t hurt Ru Ge because once he kills him, she will be heartbroken for life.
