This place blew my mind away! Whenever I try out new places, I am always apprehensive and this was no exception. I was also skeptical about whether I will be full after the meal (because I was never full after having a vegetarian course – always went back home to stuff myself).
Located close to St Mary’s Cathedral, this place boasts a beautiful oasis for patrons, like myself, to dine and have a good time. We had the option to sit inside or outside under the luscious fig trees. The ambience was definitely 10/10!
We were served promptly (also helped that we reserved a table because the place was already packed when we got there). I thank the staff for being patient with us because we did take a long long time to order (us girls needed a huge catch up and so talking was a priority for a while).
But we did start off with some edamame beans, wakame & sea salt (highly addictive!) while we were pondering on what to get.
At last we ordered our food and I was surprised that even though the place was packed (both inside and outside), we did not have to wait too long for them to arrive 🙂 BONUS POINTS!
We ordered:
- steamed bbq bao bread buns (3pc),
- spicy malay laksa w. golden tofu, tofu-yaki, shanghai bok choy, fresh bean sprouts, aromatic asian herbs, rice noodles and prawns
- bodhi vegan peking ‘duck’ w. hoisin sauce, cucumber, pancakes & handmade pancakes (5pc)
I don’t know how to fault the food. Honestly. It was good. I was full and they made me happy. The ‘duck’ was crispy and had a similar texture to a real duck. The laksa was full of flavour (surprised they did it without meat!)
Truly, immensely overjoyed!
