This episode begins where ep 30 left off with Lady Chu threatening the physician. In the end, the physician obeys Lady Chu’s commands – she’s too cruel! She then orders her maid to tell the Emperor that she miscarried.
The Emperor visits his mother with GSL. The Empress Dowager’s servant tells the Emperor about his mother’s poor mental condition. The mother could not recognise her own son and gets terrified at the mention of the Emperor. GSL calms the Empress Dowager while the Emperor looks on shocked. Then Lady Chu’s servant arrives with news: Lady Chu miscarried this morning.
The scene immediately cuts to Lady Chu’s residence where the physician gives her checks her pulse in front of the Emperor. The physician reports to the Emperor his diagnosis and leaves. Lady Chu quick puts on her pitiful act saying how she’s so disappointed she lost their son. His disappointment is clear but tells her to rest well before leaving.
Lady Chu gets off her bed as soon as he left her residence, “This big show has finally ended”. Lol she wanted to fake her pregnancy in the first place!
Lady Chu’s servant raises doubts about Li Ji’s genuine nature. This girl is a trouble maker. She’s making Lady Chu become even more suspicious of GSL and she succeeded. Lady Chu blames her downfall all on GSL and exclaims that she will take revenge!
Afterwards, we see GSL lying down with the Emperor. The Emperor relays his deepest thoughts to her while she listens. He claims that although all of his close family and friends are gone, he only has her now. Seems like he is hurting very deeply after losing his dearest non-biological brother, Cheng Jiao. Listening through all of his thoughts and inner feelings, GSL tries to comfort him and hugs him from behind.
The Emperor and Han Shen are having a friendly chess match. They converse about GSL and his loyalty towards her and the Emperor. Han Shen reveals that they found something but GSL does not want the Emperor know yet – not until they find concrete evidence. The Emperor respects this and we see that he trusts Han Shen as one of his men.
General Meng Wu requests an audience with the Emperor. He wishes that the Emperor will read the military book he brought in. The Emperor agrees and begins to read…
The scene cuts to the Emperor who is holding court. The main subject of this court matter is Mr Cao Ming. Looks like he was the person who had written that military book for the Emperor to read. The Emperor cuts to the chase and says that there was one thing he did not understand, “You are from the Wei Kingdom, yet you came to plead with me?” Mr Cao Ming chuckles and says that he is not here for fame but for world peace. He explains his reasoning behind that military book which pleases the Emperor. The Emperor quickly rewards Mr Cao Ming even though he knows he was not here for fame. We see Minister Li Si’s disappointment but he can’t do anything against the Emperor.
Then, we see Lady Min and GSL strolling together talking about political matters. Their chat gets serious once they sit down. GSL tries to get Lady Min to tell her about what she’s hiding but she doesn’t budge. Lady Min asks GSL hows her investigation is going with Han Zhangshi. GSL says that she knows who’s the culprit.
Lady Min asks “Who is it?”. Before Li Ji could reveal the name, the Emperor arrives and both ladies stood up to greet their husband. He soon takes GSL’s hand and leads her away to talk to her in private. Looks like he’s curious about why she let Han Shen leave the palace. She tells him not to worry and that Han Shen won’t bring harm to Qin. But that doesn’t stop his curiosity. So GSL tells him that she wants him to feel comfortable and not anxious, and tells him to trust her. Of course he will and he cheese-ingly makes a joke.
Soon, we get a close up shot of someone suspiciously walking into a room. Oh it’s Han Shen! Looks like he’s trying to find someone and gets surprised when the room is empty. Suddenly we see Jing Ke attacking Han Shen (who’s masked). They both attack each other until Han Shen recognises Jing Ke and calls out his name.
Then we see them both in the presence of the Crown Prince of Yan. Jing Ke explained to Han Shen about their strategy to avoid the Crown Prince getting assassinated by letting him sleep in an ordinary room. Han Shen says that their idea was good as even he was tricked. The Crown Prince questions Han Shen of his intentions of coming to meet him. However General Fan shows his suspicions and slanders Han Shen. The others defend Han Shen saying that he helped them with the escape while Han Shen says that the Emperor does know that he’s not in the palace but does not know his plan, so they don’t need to worry. Han Shen then asks to speak to Mr Tian Guang in private.
Meanwhile, Lady Min has a private meeting with Li Si while Zhao Gao is present. Seems like Lady Min is trying to get Li Si on her side. Li Si reveals that he has an inkling that she murdered Han Fei. She tries to persuade Li Si to blame GSL for the deaths by saying that it was her fault they are being implicated now.
I’M SO ANNOYED ATM! I was planning on putting ep 31 & 32 together in one post but now have to separate them because all these info are making my laptop slow! (Safari stopped responding and had to force quit which led to a loss of my translations!!!!) I can’t even get them back because they don’t exist anymore! 😦
