For those of you who know or may not know, today on Saturday 28th January 2017 is Chinese New Year. It is a huge celebration in China as well as other Asian countries. Similar to the Western’s New Year, today is our new year as per the Lunar calendar.
We actually began our celebration last night on the eve of CNY with a huge feast known as Reunion dinner. This dinner is to celebrate our life with family as we are all reunited to enjoy the food and time spent together. We also get red packets (if you’re unmarried or elderly) which is great because $$$$$$. We also get to wear our new outfits (excuses to buy new clothes) and have fun.
This year, it is the Year of the Rooster (one of the animals from the 12 zodiac calendars). So if you or know anyone who was born in 1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005 or 2017, then you’re a Rooster 🙂 Feel free to search up the fortunes of a Rooster as there will be plenty of interesting things you may not know.
This year, I wish to be happier.
As you may have known from my recent posts, I have been quite depressed. So, I hope that this year won’t make me cry too much but smile and laugh more.
祝你们鸡年吉祥,吉祥如意,大吉大利,身体健康!
Wish you all good luck for the Rooster year, good fortunes according to your wishes, lots of luck and profits, and good health!
